Sailing

A perfect way to become familiar with the island’s beauty is to sail to unknown virgin beaches and enjoy their crystalline waters and the sea breeze aboard a sail boat. The island has two active sailing clubs: the Lesvian Open Sea Sailing Association (LOIATH) and the Sailing Association of Mytilini (IOM). LOIATH delivers open sea, triangle sailing and surfing courses, while IOM has Open Sea and Triangle sailing courses. The ports providing such amenities are in Mytilini, Plomari, Molyvos and Petra. The island’s capital has an organized marina. The Mytilini marina is on the northeastern tip of the city, next to the city center. Its port can accommodate boats all year round.
