Events and Festivals

The island of Lesvos is the stage of various cultural events, especially in the summer months. All these events have seasonal character, taking place on the occasion of commemoration of historical or social incidents, such as religious festivals. Besides the multitude of religious festivals all around the island throughout the year, there are many cultural events with many associated activities centering around the promotion of a certain local product, a sporting event, movie and documentary showings, etc. There are also festivals with international recognition and fame such as the Classical Music Festival in Molyvos, the Women’s Festival at Eresos, etc.
