International Women’s Festival at Eresos

The International Women’s Festival held at Eresos started in 2000 and it is now an international destination for thousands of women from around the world. Eresos, the birthplace of Sappho, the ancient Greek poet who celebrate her love for women, is the meeting place where women are and feel safe and free to express their sexuality and, what is more important, in a setting of acceptance from the local community. Thousands of women flock into Eresos to have fun, exchange views and share experiences. The Festival lasts two weeks and it includes interesting activities, such as workshops, photo exhibitions, sightseeing, concerts, and all-night parties at various beach bars at Skala Eresou. Ioanna Savva is the main organizer and inspiration of this Festival.
