Faneromeni

Description

Faneromeni Beach is just a few kilometers to the north of Singri. It is easily accessible by car but it is vulnerable to waves and the gusts of the northerly winds. It is a sandy beach with a few pebbly spots. It has alluring clear, blue waters, an impressive white rock splitting the beach front in two, thus forming a second smaller beach amidst the rocks. The name of this beach originated from a small homonymous chapel of Virgin Mary, built inside a small cave at the end of the sandy zone. Climbing downwards into the rock, veneration of the Theotokos here assumes an otherworldly sense.
