Kayia

Kayia Beach is located on the northern part of the island, 500 m away from the town of Skala Sykamnia and 13 km to the east of Mithymna. This is a small, picturesque pebbly beach, surrounded by rocks from all sides. It is one of the cleanest and neatest beaches on Lesvos, rightfully earning every year the Blue Flag award. It is not organized but does offer some facilities such as toilets, changing booths, showers and trash disposal. Bathers may wish to stay under the shade of the shoreline trees and enjoy swimming in the clear blue waters. There are quite a few seafood tavernas near by offering mezedes, fresh fish and seafood.
