Skala Eresou

The beach at Skala Eresou, measuring 3 km wide, is one of the best and most beautiful on the island. It is covered with coarse-grain sand with rocks on either edge. The waters here are calm, and it is unaffected by the seasonal summer Aegean winds (“meltemia”). The visitor here never runs short of choices, since there are many tavernas with traditional local mezedes, cafeterias and bars right next to the beach. This place is ideal for marine sports, such as beach bikes, sail gliders, canoeing and has an organized volley ball court. On the west side of this beach there is a small pond with tortoises. Skala Eresou Beach has been awarded with the Blue Flag numerous times, judged by the competent EU authorities as the cleanest and neatest beach in Greece.
