Skala Kallonis
In Kalloni Bay, 44 km northwest of Mytilini there is Skala Kallonis Beach. This beach occupies the northwestern coastal part of Kalloni Bay, measuring 4.5 km wide. Due to the presence of permanent structures, wooden platforms for all kinds of outdoor dining, cafeterias and taverna facilities and the fish boat marina at the western edge of the beach this place has been subject to major man-made interventions. Nevertheless the beach is full of tamarisk trees, with a sandy beach and shallow waters. The central part of this beach is the one with bathing facilities, such as changing booths, showers, umbrellas, recliner beach chairs, trash disposal cans and containers. Furthermore, the beach offers a volley ball court and an on-duty lifeguard to help bathers feel safe.
