The EBA Ouzo Museum at Mytilini

The installation of the Hellenic Distillery Industry (EBA) at Pagani Mytilini hosts a space dedicated to the famous Lesvos ouzo. In this museum the visitor may get information on how ouzo was produced and enjoyed by past generations. Its premises exhibit a representation of the typical Mytilini villager of the past enjoying his ouzo dressed in his traditional sailor’s attire. Additionally, there are also machinery for the production of ouzo and a whole array of ouzo implements. There is also an impressive refrigeration box dating to the beginning of the 20^th century and a grape press. There is also a wide collection of bottles showing the profound presence of distillation companies established and operating on Lesvos. Finally, the final part of the museum has been converted into a specially designed area representing a typical 1930s coffee house with kafeneio tables and chairs.
