The Women’s Agrotourist Cooperative at Parakoila

The Women’s Agrotourist Cooperative at Parakoila started in 2001 with 14 women. Membership today stands at eleven. The Cooperative members put in a lot of love and effort to produce their traditional products and delicacies, such as sweet fruit preserves, baked goods, local liqueurs, noodles (“ktharlia”, in the local dialect) and the Parakoila ladotyri cheese. They also offer floral extract water (“neratzath”, extract from bitter lemon leaves harvested in the local orange orchards). The Cooperative has its own shop, just 500 m away from the Regional Road connecting Kalloni with Eresos. Their products are available in many outlets throughout Greece.

The Women’s Agrotourist Cooperative at Parakoila conforms to Food Safety Management System according to the international standard ISO 22000:2005 and the Quality Management System conforming to international standard ISO 9001:2000.
