AegeanDocs – International Documentary Film Festival

The International Documentary Film Festival AegeanDocs is funded and organized by the Regional Administration of North Aegean and the support and cooperation of the University of the Aegean. This is a six-day festival held in the beginning of October on all North Aegean islands. The Festival hosts award-winning guest documentary filmmakers as many film showings take place, many on live streaming platforms shown to other Aegean islands, provided there is technical capability. The documentaries shown here mainly focus on social, political and historical themes and cover a wide range of countries from the West but also from Turkey, the Arab world and Africa. Besides the film presentations, there are quite a few educational programs addressed to the locals taught by university professors and professional directors regarding the art of the feature film and the documentary film. Finally, awards and money are given to best documentary work and best new documentary creator.
