The Pessa Waterfall

The Pessa Waterfall is located close to the town of Vasilika to the east of Kalloni Bay. This waterfall was formed from the ophiolite faults in this area and the smooth flow of the Markis torrent running down from the foot of Mount Olympus, causing intense indentation on the terrain. The waterfall drops down forcefully from a 15 m precipice. The water momentum causes flow eddies resulting in the creation of a small natural pond. The water flows onwards to Kalloni Bay, close to the Aghios Pavlos Beach.
